CA Intermediate/ CAP-II course

Do you want to know everything regarding CAP-II? Then you are at the right place. Here we will be discussing the registration, eligibility, examination, and other things related to CAP-II. While preparing for the CA course, ICAN  has made CAP-II the first step of getting detailed knowledge about various Financial and Accounting aspects.

What is the eligibility for CAP-II?

Go get registered on CAP-II you must pass either of the following criteria prescribed by ICAN:

Passed the CAP-I Level Examination, or

Be a Graduate or Post Graduate in Commerce, Business Administration or Management with Accounts, Audit or Tax as a major subject and having secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks, or

Be a Graduate or Post Graduate in Commerce, Business Administration or Management with Accounts, Audit or Tax as a major subject and having secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks, or

Be a Graduate or Post Graduate in other than above with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.

Fee Structure

The total fee for the CAP-II level course is NPR 32,500.00. It can be paid fully at the time of registration or also on an Installment basis.Rs 17,500.00 at the time of Registration and Balance Rs. 15,000.00 within six months from the date of registration. This fee refers to the amount you need to pay to ICAN. If you are willing to take any classes from any institution, you need to pay them separately. In the current situation, almost every reputed institute takes around 1 lakh for completing the CAP-II course. But this may differ from institute to institute.

CAP-II subject and syllabus

There are a total of seven subjects divided into two groups carrying 700 marks in total. They are as follows:

Group 1

Paper 1.          Advanced Accounting            (100 Marks)

Paper 2.          Audit and Assurance   (100 Marks)

Paper 3.          Corporate and Other Laws     (100 Marks)

Group 2

Paper 4.          Financial Management           (100 Marks)

Paper 5.          Cost and Management Accounting    (100 Marks)

Paper 6.          Business Communication and Marketing       (100 Marks)

Paper 7.          Income Tax and VAT (100 Marks)

Eligibility test/hall test to appear in the final examination of CAP-II

A student studying CA at the ICAN board needs to appear and pass the eligibility test before the final examination to be eligible for giving the examination.

Examination dates

CAP-II examinations is held twice every year as follows:

  1. Summer examination: Starting from June 1st
  2. Winter examination: Starting from December 1st

Registration deadline

For appearing in Summer Examination, the registration must be completed on or before the end of August of the preceding year, and for Winter Examination, on or before the end of February. There should be a time interval of at least nine months between registration and the appearance of the CAP-II Level Examination.
